Thomas Malthus For Me
Thomas Malthus was famous for conjuring up the doomsday theory.
He proposed that food supply would grow at an arithmetric rate (1,2,3,4,5...) while population would grow at a geometric rate (1,2,4,8,16...).
So there would come a time when the population growth would outgrow food supply and the world would come to an end.
However, he suggested that the judgement day did not come because of wars, femine and natural disaster, taking away lives.
I liken the theory to myself.
My ability to gain more knowledge and make money grow arithmetrically, but the desire and need for money grow geometrically. There will come a point in time when the need for money is greater than my ability/opportunities to make money.
I need a big break.
