The snail and the boy

Heard this story yesterday in a donation cum dinner function. Just want to share it.

Once upon a time, an angel went up to a boy and said :"Boy, please bring this snail for a walk, if you manage to walk the snail, you will be rewarded."

"Ok, no big deal." the boy replied.

So, the boy was given a snail and brought the snail for a walk.

The snail was extremely slow. Initially, he was walking beside the snail, then he got frustrated at the speed of which the snail is moving. So he decided to walk in front of the snail.

The boy was farther and farther away from the snail, until he could not see the snail in his sight. He decided to go back to the snail and just walk behind it.

Suddenly, after some time, the boy felt so relieved. He was walking slowly, he breathed the fresh air in the morning, he saw the beautiful flowers along the way. He watched the beautiful scenaries far away.

He realised that he has gotten his reward - he has learnt to take things slowly, one at a time, so that he could appreciate life and treasure what is in front of him.

My opinion:
Actually, this religious person is trying to tell people not to look into the future or dwell in the past. We will be happier if we treasure the present day. I kind of disagree but i cannot really say why. This story actually nearly brought me to tears, I don't know why, perhaps I am quite emotionally vulnerable these few months.
